There’s a lot to love about Helcim. What we love is that you won’t have to worry about the bait-and-switch tactics and long-term, binding contracts that plague the industry. Helcim distinguishes itself from many other providers by offering no binding contracts, exclusive interchange-plus pricing, consistently good customer service, and low account fees.
First Data (now Fiserv) is a massive company offering everything a merchant could need for payment processing. But small businesses will pay a premium for access, whereas large businesses might be able to negotiate a fair deal.
Lavu POS promises to deliver features for all kinds of restaurants, from cafes to pizzerias and even food trucks. Plus, the UI is simple but customizable. But is that enough to earn your business? Read on to find out!
Erply’s POS system caters to retailers of all sizes, with a cloud-based, device-agnostic platform and your choice of payment processors. Check out the impressive feature set and see whether Erply could be a good choice for your business!
For such a large, traditional processor, Elavon offers a few advantages. The company deserves credit for eliminating its early termination fees and disclosing its flat-rate pricing plans. At the same time, it loses a few points for not disclosing the availability of interchange-plus pricing and for inconsistent customer service and support.
Square Payments earns a perfect 5-star rating for ease of use, astounding feature set, transparent and affordable pricing, and overall status as a powerhouse for merchants. While Square’s payment processing service is not appropriate for all business types and lacks the stability and negotiability of a standard merchant account, many small businesses enjoy the predictable pricing and the lightning-quick setup.
With PayJunction’s unique suite of products and services, merchants can organize their sales data, eliminate paper-based inefficiencies, reduce risk, broaden customer payment options, and eliminate the need for a traditional credit card terminal. All this can save you time, boost your profits, and streamline your business practices.
Payment Depot is best known for its use of subscription or membership-based pricing, a spinoff of the interchange-plus model. While it isn’t the only provider in the industry to offer this type of pricing, Payment Depot’s reputation for open, honest sales practices and excellent customer support put it ahead of many of its competitors using this relatively new pricing model.
In May 2019, Global Payments, another very large direct processor from Georgia, announced that it was acquiring TSYS for $21.5 billion. The combined organization will operate under the Global Payments brand name, and the TSYS name will eventually disappear. However, mergers of this size take a long time to complete, and as of May 2020, TSYS still has its own website, which lists the company as ‘TSYS – A Global Payments Company.’ We haven’t received any indication of how Global Payments plans to transition existing TSYS customers into its system, but we expect that you will probably be switched over to a Global Payments contract at some point. If you’re a merchant looking for a new provider, now is not the time to sign up with TSYS.
