Invoicing Ratings Criteria
Each section’s score is weighted differently, with the highest weights on pricing and features. The scores for each section are displayed openly in the review and then combined to create a holistic rating for the product out of 5 stars.

Pricing
30% of the total score
The Pricing score is broken down into three sections.

- Software Plans (60% of the total section rating)
- Pricing Transparency (20% of the total section rating)
- Pricing Customization (20% of the total section rating)
We consider the overall number and value of pricing plans compared to industry averages. We consider the quality of each plan compared to its pricing. We also take into consideration the availability of add-ons and the cost of these extras. We also evaluate the availability of a free trial to test the software.
Ease Of Use
20% of the total score
The Ease Of Use score is broken down into four sections.

- Software Reliability (30% of the total section rating)
- Everyday Use (30% of the total section rating)
- Integrations (10% of the total section rating)
We consider how easy it is to set up the software. We also consider whether the software is available for Mac and PC users and investigate potential software glitches that may affect usability. We evaluate how intuitive the software is, and check out mobile apps if available. We also consider the number and quality of integrations available, including integrations with payment processing solutions.
Features

The Features score is also broken down into seven sections.
- Invoicing Basics (25% of the total section rating)
- Invoice Automations (25% of the total section rating)
- Inventory (10% of the total section rating)
- Currency & Languages (10% of the total section rating)
- Time Tracking (10% of the total section rating)
- Reporting (10% of the total section rating)
- Accounting & Bookkeeping (10% of the total section rating)
We take many factors into account when evaluating invoicing software. We look at factors including the number of templates and customizations, the availability and cost of invoice automations, the quality of inventory features, multi-currency and multi-lingual invoicing support, built-in time tracking, reporting, and additional accounting and bookkeeping features.
Customer Service
15% of the total score
The Customer Service score is broken down into two sections.
- Personal Support (50% of the total section rating)
- Self-Service (50% of the total section rating)
When scoring customer service, we pay the most attention to the number of support options available (phone, email, in-person, etc.), the quality of personal support received, the training options available, and the usability and depth of any online training materials, such as wikis, videos, and knowledgebases.
User Reviews
5% of the total score
The Customer Reviews score is comprised of two sections.
- User Feedback (30% of the total section rating)
- Review Site Aggregate (70% of the total section rating)
We scour the internet for user feedback on all the products we review, looking for positive and negative feedback. Merchant Maverick is not a user review platform, so for part of this total rating we rely on aggregate user scores from review sites such as GetApp, TrustPilot, the App Store, the Play Store, and more.
